A rapidly-growing municipal government serving a population of more than one million residents and an annual budget of $3.7 billion engaged our team to help improve internal and external data sharing.​

​Working collaboratively with staff across departments, we developed and refined a data sharing decision tree – a practical tool that staff can use to determine the relevant policies and legislative provisions, internal people to contact, and technology platforms to use in any context.​

​We also developed a comprehensive report with ten recommendations and a practical roadmap outlining next steps to continue to strengthen data sharing. This included initiatives focused on training and education, communications and awareness, and role clarity.​
